Powerful Writing

In a world where everyone wears a mask, it’s a privilege to see a soul. I remember everything about that moment I received a surprise call from a publisher in 2014. Right down to the smells of the ground Italian coffee I downed.

“Your story has been chosen from hundreds of national entries for publication. Please send us your banking details.”

Her words seemed all to stark for this huge accomplishment. For four years I had bore my soul on the blank pages of a journal. Me versus a blank piece of paper. Quite often the blank piece of paper won. I would write. Then rip the pages apart. Start again. Repeat. Till I won the battle.

POWERFUL WRITING

(PW) is compelling. The best writing demands attention, whether through the force of its argument, the strength of its language, or the importance of its topic. The reader doesn’t want to stop reading – even when they’re done.

PW As a spiritual tool

I’ve come to learn it’s simply through a pen God has healed my broken shards. Perhaps when writing you will find something that you’ve never found before. See God hold them like treasures. You may even redefine what success means!

PW As a physical tool

Powerful writing turns thought and emotion into immediate action when the emotional part of every activated thought generates feelings. Emotional perceptions work harder. Writing has a physical effect on the body.

In the words of Louis L’Amour, “Start writing, no matter what. The water does not flow until the faucet is turned on.”
